Chef Vassilis Kallidis and the Überness team have taken over three dilapidated butcher shops in the Athens Central Market of Renti and have transformed them into an avant-garde pop up eatery that pays homage to the roadside food trucks of Greece.
Leaving the basic elements of the original stores untouched, the concrete walls, the rusty beams and white tiles they compose a stark environment.
It’s an ideal set for Vasilis Kallidis to create his capsule menu inspired by his research in the city for his late night cravings.
Vassilis Kallidis has been covering the etnire area of Athens, Pireus and neighborhoods of Attica region, cooking on air, local recipies by fresh ingredients form the neighborhoods' markets, for years ,m on a tv show he hosted for more than five yearzs.
Uberness is his live creation of enthousiasm, cooking techniques and love for the local greek food couleur.
Definitely the most clean dirty food, the most quaranted safe street food, the most funky going out Athenian way
To get there, you Pass through the main gate of the Athens central market at Renti , you turn to the left and you see the Uberness truck. Remember it is only on Sundays open the whoile day long, the rest of the wook after 19.00, aqnd on Mondays it is closed
